Japji Khaira was born in Fatehgarh Churian, Batala, Punjab but her family movie to Australia in 1996 and she spent her childhood there.
In 2006, she became the first NRI Punjaban to win the title of Miss World Punjaban 2006.
After winning the title of Miss World Punjaban, Japji Khaira made her debut in the movie Mitti Wajaan Maardi (2007) opposite Harbhajan Maan.
Apart from Miss World Punjaban, she won various titles such as Miss Charity Queen 2005, Miss Sugar Festival 2004, and Miss Sharara Queen 2003.
