Prince Kanwal Jit Singh is an Indian actor and writer who predominantly works in the Punjabi Film Industry. He is best known for his movies like Warning, Panchhi, and Zila Sangrur.
Personal Life
Kanwajit was inspired to become an actor from his childhood and saw a Nukar Natak (Street Show) when he was in 6th standard.
Then, he started doing street shows during his childhood. later someone told him that, you have to do theatre for 10-12 years to become an actor.
In 1992, he played a Nukar Natak at a Place, which was written by himself. The show received a huge response from the audience.
After that, he moved to Mumbai for a better opportunity but it didn’t go well, and returned home.
After returning home, he started a retail business to support his family and did his business for 10 years.
Career
Director Simerjit Singh gave him a break in a Punjabi comedy movie ”Layi Lagg”, which was produced by Shemaroo Punjabi and directed by Simerjit Singh.
Later, he started his career as an actor, he made his debut on the silver screen with ‘Chak Jawana’ and ‘Sukhmani’ in 2010.
He played Jolly in the romance film ‘Jatt Boys Putt Jattan De’, which is about a generation difference.
Following his debut, he mostly played small and supporting roles in films like Yaraan Naal Baharaan 2 (2012), Shareek (2015), Teshan (2016), and Toofan Singh (2017).
Prince KJ was really close to his Grandmother and is seen posting about her on his Instagram.
In 2016, he appeared in Teshan, a romantic comedy film directed by Sukhbir Singh.
Apart from acting, Prince Kanwaljit Singh has also worked as a writer, and his maiden feature film as a writer was ”Jatt Boys Jattan De” (2013).
Later, he also wrote more notable films like Leather Life (2015), Teshan (2016), Shadaa (2019), Mitti (2019), Gidarh Singhi (2019), Ik Sandhu Hunda Si (2020), and Zila Sangrur (2021).
In 2019, he directed a Punjabi movie ”Nanka Mel” along with the main lead Roshan Prince and Rubina Bajwa.
