Dave Sidhu is an Indian-born Australian Film Director, Actor, Casting Director, and Producer associated with the Punjabi and Hindi Film Industries. He is best known for his movies as a casting director like Pareshaan Parinda, Kuriyan Jawan Bapu Preshaan, Haterz, and Padma Shri Kaur Singh. He has also directed some short documentary movies like Pand -The Responsibility, Tabbar, Qaida-E-Noor, and The Oneness.
Personal Life
Dave Sidhu was born on 02 November 1986 and raised in Barnala, Punjab, India.
He completed his schooling from Govt. Public School, Barnala and did his graduation from S.D. College, Barnala.
After his graduation, he started working as a casting director in various films and later shifted to Sydney, Australia.
After that, he pursued academics and achieve two degrees both in the field of Cinema, a diploma in Art and Craft and the other is a diploma in Filmmaking from AFI Australia.
Career
Dave Sidhu has been a part of many major projects and has also directed & produced several music videos.
He has directed some music videos like Mirza by Vikram Rathod, Dhooman, Dollar vs Sleep, Gaddi Naal Viah, Aaj Bhangre Pan Ge, and more.
In 2018, he made his film debut in a supporting role in the ”Pareshaan Parinda” movie and played the role of Rohan.
After that, he directed the short doc movie ”Pand – The Responsibility” in 2017 and ”Tabbar” in 2018.
He also worked as a casting director in various movies, such as ”Kuriyan Jawan Bapu Preshaan” and ”Haterz”.
He ventured into film direction in the year 2020 with ”The Oneness” a short documentary film on Indo-Australians.
In 2021, he directed two short movies named ‘Kuch Na Kuch’ and ‘Qaida-E-Noor’ which were produced by Tracktouch Production.
In 2022, Sidhu founded Cinetown Org under which he organize Cinetone Awards as Festival Director.
His most recent projects as a director are Padma Shri Kaur Singh and Yaariyan Dildaariyan.
